My Philosophy on UI/UX/IX Design.

I try to focus on creating simple and transparent UI's that engage the user by creating clear and attainable goals with positive and immediate feedback at every step. This ensures that both the users goals and the business goals are mutually achieved without sacrificing either. Page hierarchy, scanning options, knowing your user base, being empathetic to that user base, being aware of and using proven UI conventions and consistency consistency consistency are all essential parts of my philosophy.

As a designer, I also focus on the visual side of the user experience too. Creating a transparent UI doesn't mean create a bland and boring UI that only supports specific business goals. Depending on the business and the user base, the visual aspects of a site play a big role in a users experience, mood, and mindset towards a site, which goes a long way in getting that user to return and promote the site to friends.

Finally it is also very important to set up some kind of mechanism for user testing, either by manually going out and getting people off the street and in front of your UI to see what works and what doesn't work, or in the case of my work at Doostang.com, work to set up A/B testing to streamline the experience by looking at pure conversion rates and click throughs.
